T.T. Corporate IT Dept. / Systems Division

A company with an open culture that allows you to take the initiative
Tell us about your job?

As a member of the Systems Division, I work on promoting partnerships with our alliances and UD Trucks. I review the status of an array of projects in the company from an IT perspective and make arrangements to provide the necessary systems.

Why did you choose to work at Isuzu?

I wanted to work in the IT field from the start. When I thought about where I could utilize my skills, I took an interest in the commercial vehicle industry where the products have long lifespans and there are high expectations for IT technologies.
I chose Isuzu because I thought light- and medium-duty vehicles in urban areas would be the best place to put technology to use, and this is a field that Isuzu excels in.
The people were also very kind during the hiring process, and after a number of interviews, I felt it was a comfortable environment to be in. That impression hasn't changed since I joined the company.

What else do you like about Isuzu?

What I find most attractive about Isuzu is that there are so many projects and everyone gets a chance to demonstrate leadership. There's never a dull moment.
Even if you're suddenly thrust into a leadership role, there are many kind and collected people around you, so you feel comfortable asking for advice if you run into a problem.
The workplace environment is very open and you don't have to be overly concerned about small things. People talk to their supervisors with just the "-san" honorific instead of their job titles. Recently, business casual attire is recommended and the days of wearing suits and ties are fading away. Furthermore, flextime has been introduced and starting from April 2024, the core time has been abolished. I expect this will allow for even more flexible workstyles.

When do you feel a sense of job satisfaction? What do you find interesting about your job?

My job satisfaction comes from being involved in work related to company transformation in my day-to-day work.
Isuzu is growing at a speed beyond what I imagined five years ago when I joined the company as a new graduate. Against this backdrop, I have been involved in launching many projects in collaboration with other companies.
I am experiencing many new things with different colleagues, constantly enriching my point of view, making each day exhilarating.

How has Isuzu changed and how are you trying to change?

I feel there are more opportunities to globalize our company culture.
When collaborating with others, even if you are in Japan, the project is generally carried out in English with members from diverse countries.
With our corporate culture becoming more globalized, people from different countries with different ways of thinking inevitably tend to have different points of view. Nevertheless, I believe that sharing each other's perspectives and taking the best out of them, rather than denying any of them outright, leads to a project's success and makes you more confident.
Going forward, I hope to eliminate fixed preconceptions and create good solutions.

Please tell us about your "I Do Declaration."

Each and every employee is working to fulfill the ideals of ISUZU ID and change behavior as part of their own "I Do Declaration."

My I Do Declaration is to "listen to English every day."
Because my English listening skills need improvement even though many meetings are held in English.

What actions will you take to be No.1 in one of the four areas outlined in ISUZU ID?

Through collaborative projects, I will work on creating an atmosphere where we always respect each other's opinions to be No.1 in Engagement!

"Mutual Inspiration" is a central element of ISUZU ID's core value. What does mutual inspiration mean to you?

When working on collaborative projects with members of companies coming from different cultures, there were times when we disagreed due to our own fixed preconceptions. However, by articulating and discussing our ideas, our understanding deepens, leading to better methods of creating new things collaboratively.

What would you say to someone interested in joining Isuzu?
