M.N.  Production Control & Logistics Dept. / Business Process Development Division

A transformational time to take on new challenges
Tell us about your job?

My job, together with the team, is to build and operate an optimal logistics process. Our main work is to balance market demand and production limitations on the plant's side and find the optimal balance. We also build product supply networks for new businesses. Currently, I'm in charge of a project to receive heavy-duty trucks from an OEM.

What do you like about Isuzu?

I believe Isuzu's attractiveness is that it can produce big and tangible results with just a small number of people.
Even though we operate on a scale where I can see the faces of every person I have contact with, the company's business is global to the point that we can go anywhere in the world and see our vehicles on the road. I think that's an appeal unique to Isuzu.

When do you feel a sense of job satisfaction? What do you find interesting about your job?

Circumstances like the COVID-19 pandemic caused component shortages and logistical disruptions, which gave us a lot of difficulties in the process of delivering vehicles to our customers. But that made the products feel all the more special to me.
Furthermore, the department I'm currently in is involved in the production of commercial vehicles for domestic and international markets. So, whether I see Isuzu vehicles on a construction site nearby or on a highway abroad when I go on holiday, I feel the same fondness for the products.
It's very moving to see the products that we manufacture be delivered to our customers and out in the world getting the job done.

Please tell us about your "I Do Declaration."

Each and every employee at Isuzu is working to embrace ISUZU ID and change behavior as part of their own "I Do Declaration."

My I Do Declaration is to "refine my communication skills".
To take on new challenges, I'm communicating more than ever with people from different backgrounds, and I think such opportunities will only increase going forward. However, you cannot always assume that the other person completely understands what you're saying or intending. If I have even a slight doubt about whether a person misunderstands me, or I misunderstand them, I will make sure to confirm. If the message is difficult to convey by words, I will come up with creative ways like using diagrams or tables. In this way, I will not rely on assumptions and always use dialogue.

What actions will you take to be No.1 in one of the four areas outlined in ISUZU ID?

In order to be No.1 in Engagement, I will create growth opportunities in day-to-day operations and put effort into the training of my team members.

"Mutual Inspiration" is a central theme of ISUZU ID's core value. What does mutual inspiration mean to you?

I'm currently part of an OEM project and working with multiple departments, including UD Trucks, to move our operations forward. Since everything is new, it's necessary for everyone to share their opinions when making decisions. I find that very inspiring and it drives me to work harder and master the work at hand.
This dynamic of members inspiring each other is the driving force behind the project.

How has Isuzu changed and how are you trying to change?

I feel we are receiving a lot more direction from management now. We have been receiving messages directly from members of management, not only through the existing Isuzu Shimbun (in-house newsletter) but also through in-house events like Innovation Day and video messages. They provide us with even more opportunities to think about what we need to do now and what we should aim for in the future.
I will strive to find hints in the messages from management on what I need to do, apply them to specific tasks, and carry them out.

What would you say to someone interested in joining Isuzu?

Both Isuzu and the industry are in the midst of a great transformation, and there are lots of opportunities that can only be experienced during this dynamic period. Please actively consider joining us at Isuzu.
