Activities in FY2018 : TABLE FOR TWO (TFT) Program, Food Drive, Eco Cap, and With Second-hand Books! Children's Forest Project Support
We are pleased to report about Isuzu's FY2018 activities below.
1. FY2018 TABLE FOR TWO (TFT) Program Results
Isuzu operates a TABLE FOR TWO ("TFT") program in its employee cafeteria and café to enable our employees to live and eat healthily, while at the same time contributing to society. Each time an employee orders something from the Healthy Menu or buys a Healthy Drink, 10 JPY is collected from the employee which Isuzu matches with another 10 JPY, making a total of 20 JPY. Combined with collections from donation boxes, this money is used to provide school meals for children suffering from famine and poverty in developing countries, through the NPO TABLE FOR TWO International.
|Area||School meals provided
- *The TFT program is currently being implemented in the six countries of Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and the Philippines, all of which are countries in which Isuzu operates.
2. FY2018 Food Drive Activities Results
Food Drive activities performed by Isuzu involve employees bringing from home any foods and ingredients that are nearing their best-before date and donating them to welfare facilities and institutions in the region through the certified NPO Second Harvest Japan to reduce loss due to food waste and contributing to social welfare.

3. FY2018 Eco Cap Activities Results
The Eco Cap Activity recycles PET bottle caps provided and collected by Isuzu employees and donates the sale value to organizations that provide polio vaccines to children in developing countries.
|Area||Bottle caps collected||Notes|
|Omori||115,417||Provided polio vaccines for 144 people through a social action program run by a school in Shinagawa, Tokyo. See Note 1.|
|Fujisawa||750,160||Provided polio vaccines for 1,500 people through NPO corporations.|
|Tochigi||293,417||Provided polio vaccines for 586 people through NPO corporations.|
Note 1: Calculations are based on 800 caps equaling one polio vaccine for Omori activities, and 500 caps equaling one polio vaccine for Fujisawa and Tochigi activities.
4. FY2018 With Second-hand Books! Children's Forest Project Support Activities Results
The Children's Forest project is implemented by the public interest incorporated foundation OISCA to support initiatives in which children plant and care for trees in their schools and local communities themselves, in order to help instill in children an awareness of the importance of greenery and a love of nature. In this project, Isuzu employees donate used books and their sale value is then donated to the "Children's Forest" project.
|Area||Number of used books donated|
- *The "Children's Forest" project is currently active in 36 countries (including the Philippines, Indonesia, India, China, and Thailand), most of which are countries in which Isuzu operates.
