Activities in FY2018 : DeuSEL® Project Special Classes Held at Elementary Schools

Social Contribution Initiatives

Isuzu has been carrying out joint research with its project partner euglena Co., Ltd. in the DeuSEL® Project since 2013.
DeuSEL® is a light oil that uses euglena as a raw material. Euglena is cultivated through photosynthesis, thereby aiding carbon neutral efforts.

Since 2015, Isuzu has been visiting elementary schools to broaden the knowledge of children and teach them about the workings of DeuSEL® and the future-oriented activities of this ongoing research.
During FY2018, we held three classes (for 5th year students) at elementary schools in neighboring areas. The results of the activities (date, location, and participants) are listed below.

Date School
October 19, 2018 Shinagawa Gakuen, Shinagawa, Tokyo
(127 participants)
November 19, 2018 Sakado Elementary School, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture (104 participants)
February 18, 2019 Higashi-Kashiwagaya Elementary School, Ebina City, Kanagawa Prefecture (79 participants)

We will continue these activities in FY2019 as well.
