The proliferation of electronic automotive systems in recent years has made it essential to communicate information between control units. We used the Controller Area Network (CAN) system for this purpose to make a major improvement to the amount of information conveyed between each controller unit. The CAN bus structure is illustrated in Figure 8 below.
